Bar coding Patient Wristbands

Ensuring patient safety begins with positively identifying the patient. Bar code wristbands set the foundation for numerous healthcare quality and safety improvements by providing a way to identify patients with complete accuracy. Build your foundation on long-lasting wristbands that stay on the patient and remain readable after repeated use and extended treatments. Zebra wristband solutions can easily satisfy these positive patient wristband solutions, and can encode patient information in bar codes and radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to comply with privacy requirements.

Lost, damaged, and illegible wristbands contribute to many errors. Z-Band materials are formulated to prevent these problems. Used with Zebra’s printers, they produce top quality, long lasting images and resist exposure to alcohol, soaps, water, moisture, X-rays, and other hazards that can ruin wristbands. Z-Band wristbands are available in youth and adult sizes in a variety of colours for comfortable, convenient patient identification Zebra printers and Z-Band wristbands provide a convenient, one-step solution for patient IDs. Text, graphics, and bar codes are produced directly on the wristband in a single pass. There is no need for hand-written or typed inserts, or stick-on labels, which saves time and eliminates a potential point of failure.

Visitor Identification Cards

From automatic patient identification to data collection systems, Zebra card printers can substantially improve patient care. Whether you need healthcare cards for confidential patient information, or professional and personalised ID cards for your employees for security, access control, and time and attendance, Zebra card printers fit the bill. Using easily available software linked to the hospital patient database. A small plastic card is printed containing details of the patient including a small photo taken with a camera linked to a PC. This card can replace the wristband. The advantages are a photographic means of identification, empowering the patient and it’s re-usability. The wristband can also support the unique hospital number given in barcode format. A Patient ID Card means the identification of patients accurately with electronic backup in hospital departments such as haematology, chemotherapy units or kidney dialysis units where patients attend repeatedly.
